We Plant Trees

We believe in corporate responsibility.

We didn’t even want to be a corporation! I mean, the big ones tend to have horrendous reputations don’t they? It felt like a conflict of interest, but our accountant said it was necessary. So, as a corporation, we wanted to do something that would reflect our core values.

We care about the planet and creating a business that gives back to nature. Active community members, we also care about community building & social justice, and these all go hand-in-hand.

Recently at a conference we heard Diana Beresford-Kroeger, renowned botanist & author of To Speak for the Trees say:

“The single most important thing we can do for the planet is stop cutting down trees. It’s as simple as that … Without the global forest there is no hope for humanity’s future on earth.”

We couldn’t agree more. Trees clean our air and water, create habitats for biodiversity, contribute to our health and wellbeing, and create jobs for social impact.

That’s why, from 2019 to the present we’ve been honoured to have reforestation through One Tree Planted as a part of our business model.

One Tree Planted

One Tree Planted is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to global reforestation. Their mission is to reforest the planet, one tree at a time. Every $1 donated helps plant 1 tree. It's that simple. They also raise awareness about the importance of trees, offer businesses like ours a simple sustainability solution, and motivate younger generations to do something positive for the environment.

Why are trees important?

Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity. Forests provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere, and are key ingredients in 25% of all medicines. Did you ever taken an Aspirin? It comes from the bark of a tree!

The Six Pillars

AIR

Trees take in harmful pollutants and release clean oxygen for us to breathe.

WATER

Trees filter water, prevent floods and help maintain water cycles.

BIODIVERSITY

Forests provide habitat to many animals, birds, insects, fungi, moss & plants.

The Endangered Southern Resident Orca

Planting trees along rivers and streams of the Pacific Northwest restores habitat for the endangered orca.

These whale neighbours have called the stretch of Pacific Ocean from Northern California to British Columbia home for millennia. Every year, as the Orca's migrate North to South and back again they rely on the West Coast Chinook salmon for food (nearly 80% of their diet). However, salmon stocks are diminishing due to loss of habitat and increasing pollution - ultimately impacting the Orca downstream.

Being Northern West Coast natives, the plight of the endangered Southern Resident Orca is close to our hearts. Trees help reduce pollution and improve the health and quantity of salmon for the orca to eat! You can learn more about it here.

Our commitment.

Goodwin Creative partnered with One Tree Planted, will plant trees with 1.5% of revenue from every project.

That means, if we build your website, we’ll plant at least 30 trees in your name.

That’s a small forest!

We look forward to your projects. Ask us for more information and how it all works! Together we can make a difference in the fight to protect our coastlines and our planet.
